Embroidered sarees are fashionable elements in every woman’s wardrobe which will never go out of style. You can shop for embroidery sarees online & next time you open your closet doors you will be confused as to what you should wear rather than say “I don’t have anything to wear”.

One can find many different styles of embroidery in India, which are designed on the sarees, making them look ethereal. Considered as an outfit fit for the privileged, the plush and swanky form of Indian embroidery, is the Zardozi work which came into being since the late 16th century. The word Zardozi is derived from two Persian words i.e. “Zar” meaning gold & “Dozi” meaning embroidery. This style of work attained a lot of prominence in India during the time of Mughal invasion and reached its true glory during the reign of Mughal Emperor Akbar. Earlier, Zardozi was used to decorate the attire of the Kings & royals. The technique of Zardozi is an ancient skill which is basically a beautiful metal embroidery, using gold & silver threads. However, today actual gold and silver threads are not used & instead threads of cotton or yarn are used which are then wrapped up in the metallic yarn of gold or silver. Adding more allure to the elaborate designs of Zardozi, are studded pearls and precious stones. Nowadays, Zardozi work is used as a brocade for sarees such as georgette, silk, chiffon etc. If some references are to be believed, it is said that Zardozi has been in existence in India since the Rig Vedic period, wherein, the whole attire of the Gods was embellished in Zardozi work. Zardozi work is a specialty of many cities in India such as Lucknow, Ajmer, Delhi, and Agra and so on. Zardozi embroidered sarees look really enchanting, showing off a feministic side. Another interesting art of embroidery from the north of India is the Phulkari embroidery of Punjab. This art has its origins as early as the 19th century and is a very famous tradition of rural embroidery in the land of Punjab. The word Phulkari can be divided into 2 words i.e.”Phul” meaning flower & “Kari” meaning work, thus literally meaning craft of flowers. Phulkari work comprises of complex and colourful embroidery on a fabric, almost covering every inch of the fabric so that it is completely invisible. This embroidery is done on hand-woven cotton fabric, using silk floss thread. Such beautiful works of art definitely belong in your closet, and you can do this by shopping for embroidery sarees online.

Be it any occasion, or any event, embroidered sarees give off an uber chic finish to your ensemble, making you stand out from the crowd. With such a wardrobe you will definitely make everyone go wow at that next party you will be attending.
