There’s an old adage that states, “If it’s not broken, don’t fix it.” While certainly making sense in a number of situations, such a mentality doesn’t alway prove effective in the world of compact luxury SUVs. For example, as far as the creators of the 2016 Acura RDX are concerned, the alternative philosophy of, “If it’s not broken, make it better,” is made clearly manifest by the aforementioned vehicle type.

The 2016 RDX’s Exterior

For starters, the 2016 RDX’s exterior has undergone a number of subtle, yet important changes. Generally speaking, the overall shape of the 2015 and 2016 RDXs is very much the same.

However, next year’s model distances itself from the 2015 RDX’s body with, aesthetically speaking, at least, new wheel designs, headlights and taillights, a front grille, front bumper and updated rear. Though not stark in their visual differences, the 2016 RDX most assuredly presents more of a modern look for motorists.

The 2016 RDX’s Interior

Much like the exterior, if you don’t know what to look for in the ways of differences, you might miss out on all of the new updates that Acura has put into place. The biggest of cabin-related changes for the 2016 RDX has to do with the compact luxury crossover’s center control stack.

New to the SUV, the aforesaid now come’s with a state-of-the-art dual-screen design, instead of using the older, more generic button-filled setup. Additionally, the new Acura RDX comes revised climate controls and reshaped air vents.

The 2016 RDX’s Features

Sure, the two vehicles in question are essentially the same under the hood with their 3.5-liter V6 engines, but there’s yet another keynote difference worth pointing out: feature updates.

In fact, reports Doug DeMuro of AutoTrader.com, “Specifically, the new model boasts the latest safety features and gadgets that the RDX didn't offer last year, including a blind spot monitoring system, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, rear cross-traffic alert and a forward collision-mitigation system.”

As can clearly be seen, the auto experts at Acura have put a great deal of time and effort into making the 2015 MDX, an incredible vehicle in its own right, even better in 2016.
