Important safety precautions that should be taken by two-wheeler drivers

by Ravi Singh Rana Digital Marketer

The number of people killed in traffic accidents in the country is increasing every year, which is quite distressing. Thousands of valuable lives have been lost as a result of a huge number of incidents involving two-wheelers, which is very troubling. The Yamaha Scooty has a digital metre that is incredibly clear and provides you with all the information you require about your voyage. With the Fascino 125 FI retro design, you get the best of both worlds.

Following are some crucial safe driving tips for two-wheeler riders, particularly those who are new to the sport and have little experience:

1. Check tyre pressure, brakes, indicator lights, headlights, horns, and rearview mirrors before starting your scooter or bike for the first time every day.

2. Although wearing a helmet is required by law, some people do not wear them when travelling short distances, such as to a neighbouring market or store. This is extremely dangerous because accidents can occur anywhere, especially on narrow roads or turnings within a residential area.

3. Be wary of bikers who abruptly pass you on the left side. Keep an eye on both the left and right rearview mirrors at all times.

4. Do not attempt to overtake large vehicles such as buses or lorries on a busy route, especially if these vehicles are going at a reasonable speed.

5. Never overtake a bus that is stopping at a bus stop ahead of you on the left side because passengers will be alighting the bus, and there is a good possibility you will hit one of them. When passing a stopped bus, truck, van, or automobile, make sure you have ample driving space, even if a vehicle approaches from the opposite direction.

6. Be careful not to abruptly stop your bike, especially when red lights appear on traffic signals; instead, raise your hand to indicate that you are coming to a halt to vehicles approaching from behind.

7. It is critical to turn on the indicator light since quickly turning to the right or left without indicating can result in major accidents. If your indicators aren't working, signal with your hands before turning.

8. As we have all seen, some road conditions are quite poor, with deadly potholes that can be fatal. Keep a cautious eye on such terrible roads to prevent crashing into potholes and sustaining injury.

9. Take particular caution during rainy seasons when roads become extremely slick or saturated, as your vehicle may skid, especially when turning. On wet roads, drive gently because there could be potholes or road cuts anywhere, causing you to lose your balance and tumble.

10. Never ignore traffic signals and always respect the regulations of the road. Allow space on your left when stopping at lights for vehicles that may turn left.

11. It is best not to exceed 45 km/h speed limits within city borders. Always drive on the left side of the road to allow other vehicles to pass you easily. Never try zig-zagging or racing with other motorcycles. Concentrate solely on driving and never let your attention wander to other things, such as the office or domestic issues.

12. It is always safe to flash or keep headlights on while overtaking other vehicles during the day. When overtaking, always use the horn.

Two-wheelers may be a lot of fun and exciting if you follow all of the basic driving and road safety procedures. A percentage of two-wheeler accidents, fatalities, and serious injuries can be avoided by following a few simple safe driving techniques and maintaining your vehicle properly.
