•    Individual making use of a private or commercial boat or marine vessel within territorial waters of Dubai needs to have a certified license which is issued by Dubai Maritime City Authority.

•    Boat owners or any crew of vessels who are registered with other Emirates will need a Dubai license if he/she anchors, doing fishing or doing any type of water sports activity. If the vessels are just in Dubai territory just for cruising on Dubai waters, then there is no need of license is, but having it is strongly recommended.

How one can have the license?

•    The intended marine boat driver needs to appear for an exam with the Dubai Maritime City Authority. After successful passing of the test, License to drive a boat on Dubai water will be issued for up to 12 Meters.

•    To have the license one need to be declared medical fit for this profile. The medical test will be conducted only in the approved Medical Center

•    If the applicant is having an IYT certificate, then the issuance of the marine driver's license will be done by DMCA without taking any further test. The medical test will be a must.

•    In case the intended boat driver is not having an IYT certificate, then he/she can join authorized official training center for the world reputed Royal Yachting Association in Dubai. The course can be selected based on the type and size of the vessel the person is having or wants to drive.

•    Application need to made for the Marine Crew Licensing and this  is the first step in the process

•    Latest passport sized individual photo having white shading foundation

•    Permit for Travelling, book of UAE family or Emirates Xerox of the identity card for the UAE national

•    A NOC from the backer for the Non-UAE national

•    Unique Driving Li, for example,ample IYT Small Powerboat and RIB Master up to 12 m or license for IYT International Bareboat skipper up to 24 m

•    Marking of Medical Declaration Fitness endorsement by the applicant, in addition to a shading vision test which will be taken in the DMCA office.

•    Photocopy or duplicate of all the above-mentioned reports and endorsements
