The Middle East’s first Apple stores opened (naturally) in the UAE last week, and there was no shortage of Apple geeks in attendance to witness this momentous occasion. The Dubai store, located on the second floor of Mall of the Emirates, features a glass store front reminiscent of Apple’s standalone stores and rows of wooden tables stocked with all of Apple’s latest products, including the much-coveted iPhone 6s.

Trees – real trees – also surround benches in the middle of the store, where Apple geniuses can sit down with customers. There’s also a massive TV screen at the back of the Apple store, measuring 4.5 metres tall by 7 metres wide, and behind that lies the store’s events rooms, which has already starting hosting a number of events, including workshops such as “Perfect your Photos on Mac”, “Your Day With Apple Watch”, and “Meet the Musician”. Workshops are held in both English and Arabic, and a quick look at their calendar of events reveals some workshops are filling up weeks in advance.
