Snoozing an email on Gmail for smartphone

Both Gmail for Android and iOS have the Snooze feature. The only thing you have to think about is the Gmail version. You must have the most recent Gmail app on your device to snooze the emails. If you’re not sure about your Gmail app version, then search for Gmail or check the installed app section in App Store/Play Store. If your Gmail app is up to date, you can begin.

  1. Launch the ‘Gmail’ app on your Android or iOS.
  2. Access your Gmail inbox by signing in to your Gmail account. Ignore if you’re logged in already.
  3. Now, find the email in the inbox you want to snooze.
  4. Open the email to view it.
  5. After that, touch on the ‘Three dots’ near the top to get options for the email.
  6. Select ‘Snooze’ from the opened menu. It will open a popup box with six snooze time choices.
  7. Select an option to keep the email into the snoozed folder.

The email will be snoozed and moved to the snoozed folder for the chosen time. If you want to snooze the more emails in your inbox, do the same things with them.

Accessing snoozed emails in Gmail for smartphone

If you want to access and reply to an email in between the snoozed period, then first you need to unsnooze it. Here is how.

  1. Launch the ‘Gmail’ app on your Android or iOS.
  2. After that, open the ‘Gmail’ menu from by touching the ‘Hamburger’ icon on the top.
  3. Go to ‘Snoozed.’ You’ll see the entire emails you’ve postponed (snoozed) here.
  4. Look for the one you want to access and restore your Gmail inbox.
  5. Select a snoozed email.
  6. Touch on the ‘Three dots’ near the top and select ‘Unsnooze’ from the options.

The email will be unsnoozed and move back to your inbox. You can now open and reply to it as usual.

Snoozing an email on Gmail for computer

Just like the mobile Gmail app, you can snooze emails from your computer as well. Make sure that your Gmail is up to date, before proceeding.

  1. Launch ‘Gmail’ and access your Gmail inbox by signing in to your Gmail account.
  2. Find the email in the inbox you want to snooze and open it.
  3. Now, click on the ‘Snooze’ (Clock) icon at the top of the message box. You can hover the cursor over each icon to know their name or function.
  4. Select an option for ‘Snooze until.’ You can choose a preset option as well as the set date and time manually.

The email will be snoozed for the specified time and moved to the snoozed folder. If you want to snooze the more emails in your inbox, do the same things with them.

Accessing snoozed emails in Gmail for computer

You can instantly access the snoozed folder and see your snoozed emails from anywhere in Gmail for the computer. Here is how.

  1. Open Gmail.
  2. Click on the ‘Snoozed’ option in the Gmail menu on the left side.
  3. The entire emails you’ve postponed (snoozed) are on your screen.
  4. Select the email you want unsnooze or restore to your Gmail inbox.
  5. Click on the ‘Snooze’ (Clock) icon again at the top of the message box.
  6. Now, select ‘Unsnooze’ in the Snooze until dropdown.

The email will be unsnoozed and restored. You can restore more emails in the same manner.
