The best way to configure a VPN into your device is to use a VPN app. You can find numerous VPN apps on the App Store. Signing up is the first and foremost procedure that you need to fill up to make your account on the VPN app. After Sign it up, you can use the account on any other device.

Once you sign up on the VPN account, you need to permit VPN to configure it with your iPhone or iPad. Give permission by clicking on “Allow” to automatically configure it on your iPhone. You can secure your VPN account by prompting to set up a Touch ID or with a passcode. Once you set up the passcode, you will be required to enter the passcode to change the VPN settings.

After setting up the VPN completely, you can connect with the server at any time. You don’t have to open the application again to activate the VPN, and you can do it directly through settings.

  1. Open “Settings.”
  2. Click on “General.”
  3. Choose the “VPN” section.
  4. If you already set up multiple VPN servers, so choose one “VPN client” to use.
  5. Toggle on “Status” to switch on.

Once you turn on the VPN from these following processes, you will have to follow the same procedure to turn off the VPN. Sometimes you are limited on the plan, so be sure to turn it off when you don’t have much free plan.

How to Manually Set Up a VPN on iPhone or iPad

With the help of login details, you can easily manually set up a VPN server on your mobile device.

  1. Open “Settings.”
  2. Move to “General.”
  3. Click on the “VPN” section.
  4. Tap on “Add VPN Configuration.”
  5. Click on “Type.”
  6. Choose the “VPN type” among IKEv2, L2TP, or IPSec.
  7. You can cancel it as well by clicking on “Cancel” from the upper side.
  8. Mention “VPN settings information” with description, remote ID, and server.
  9. Mention the “authentication login” with username and password.
  10. Enable the proxy if you want to use it and tap on “Manual or Auto” as per your preference.
  11. Click on “Done.”
  12. Below the configuration toggle on the “Status” of switch on.

Just follow these steps, and you will be able to configure the VPN manually as well.
