How to Make Paper Turkey to Celebrate Holiday Season?
Want to add
fun to this holiday season? Whether crafting DIY decorations for this
Thanksgiving dinner or simply want to indulge in the strength of autumn, it is very simple, quick and creative to make a
turkey out of white
paper bags with handles. It will definitely please both adults and children. It
needs a couple of simple materials to add some thrifty fall effect whenever it
is needed.
What will you need?
First of all, you need to gather the materials. You will
need a few basic items like three printed paper bags
(2 small cheap paper bags and one
full-size paper grocery bag), few sheets of newspaper, one sheet of white typing
paper with 8 ½ x 11-inch dimensions,
scissors, and craft glue or hot glue gun. If you want to add any other
material, it will be up to you, according to how elaborate you want your
presentation to be in your finished turkey.
Turkey is made
two smaller bags as drumsticks and one big bag
for the body. It just takes a few
minutes. So, you can have a lot of time to finish decorating, playing, or doing
other craft projects.
To make the
body of turkey – Take a full-size
paper bag, and it should be ¾ full with
crumpled newspaper. It will fill out the body.
It gives a plump look and keeps it from
collapsing once it is ready. After stuffing the bag, fold the corners
diagonally and glue them well.
Shape
Drumsticks – Have two smaller
paper bags to craft the drumsticks. One hand should be turned into a fist and
stuck in each bag. Mold the opening of the bar
over your wrist. It will give recognisable
drumstick shape to your bag. Remove your hand from the bag
and fill the rounded part with newspaper. The opening
of each bag
should be twisted and shut secured with glue. Drumsticks should also be filled
to be in their actual shape.
Cut the
booties for drumsticks – Drumsticks
are not complete until you dress them in
frilly white booties, just like a typical
Thanksgiving turkey. Cut the typing paper
sheet in half, and each piece should be
folded in half and lengthwise. Make a series of cuts in open edge with scissors
to create a clean fringe.
Put everything
together – Wrap a bootie
around each drumstick end and stick them using glue. Stick the drumsticks on
either side of sealed part of turkey and glue them. As a result, you will get a
funny, realistic baked bird that your guests may just confuse it for real.
