How to Increase Computer Memory RAM Simply

Today we illustrate a very simple system to increase the RAM of your computer on Windows operating systems. This is a feature present from Windows 7 but not everyone knows.

As time goes on, our computers tend to grow old before we realize it. However, as we have often seen in our PC maintenance articles, with a bit of cravings and patience, we can keep it in shape and continue to use them for years.

The RAM of the computer is the memory that allows us to perform the operations in a fluid way. So more memory will be available and more things can be done without slowing down. Normally, to increase this memory, it acts at hardware level, physically replacing or adding new memory modules.

With the system that we show you will instead use a normal USB stick. The only thing is that this is over 1 Gb of capacity.

Let's see how to do it :

• We put the key into one of the USB ports on the computer
• For convenience, we close the Autoplay window (on some systems this feature may be disabled)
• Let's go to "computer" (we find it from the start menu or just type "Computer" in the search box)
• Right-click on the key volume and choose "Properties"
• In the window that opens, choose "Readyboost"
• Now depending on the capacity of the key we can choose whether to devote it completely to this function or just a part. Let us look at the box that interests us and choose the amount of memory (the maximum is 4 gb)
• We click on "Apply" and wait for the end of the process.

From now on this key will have stored this function. So part of it (or all of it, depending on our choice) will no longer be usable for storing data, even disabling it and reusing it later. However if you need to use it again as a normal USB stick, you can disable the function by following the same steps but by choosing "Do not use the device" this time. The dedicated RAM partition will be deleted and we can use the key normally.

 

This system will certainly not take off the performance but surely those who normally have only 1 or 2 gb of RAM will notice improvements and a more fluid and fast system, especially during daily operations such as navigation.
