Another factor apart from their origin, which makes them unique, is that they are a product of living organisms living under the oceans. The Red Coral stone properties make them quite valuable across the globe and due to such reasons; at times fake stones are also sold in place of the real Red Corals. If you plan for Moonga gemstone to buy, here are some easy tests you can to ensure its authenticity.

How to Identify Real Coral Gemstones:

Buying gemstones is not an everyday affair, whether those are precious or semi precious stones. While you are going to shop for Red Corals, try running one or two of the following tests to protect yourself from buying a fake Coral. These are:

  • Magnification Test: Take a magnifying glass and observe the Red Coral thoroughly in proper lightening conditions. If you notice that there are some granules present on the surface, then it is a fake gem. On the other hand, if the surface is smooth, then it is an authentic Red Coral.
  • Rubbing Test: While the original Red Corals are organic products, the imitation Corals are usually made up of glass. Take the gemstone and start rubbing or clicking with fingernail. If the gem makes a glass sound, then it is a fake.
  • Milk Test: Take a cup full of milk and put the gemstone inside it for a while. After sometime, if you notice that the color of the milk has changed slightly towards red, then it is definitely an authentic Red Coral. The Red Corals have a tendency to radiate their color and this color is absorbed by the milk, hence the slight red color.
  • Turmeric Test: Take a piece of raw turmeric and rub the gemstone for a while. If the turmeric turns red, then the gemstone is a fake and if the turmeric remains in the same color, the gem is completely original.

These are quite easy and simple tests that will not only help in ensuring the authenticity of the Red Corals, but also saving your hard earned money from getting wasted over a fake Coral.
