What is a good logo? A logo that allows easy recognition, is versatile and memorable. A good logo is unique without being overpowering. A good food logo design should have the following key qualities that’ll help it become irresistibly delightful, just like your food.

Colors That Resemble Food

Using the most effective colors in your logo design will encourage the right attitude from your customers. When selecting a color for a food logo or trademark the makers should close their eyes and think of colors that remind them of enjoyable food. For example, brown can signify crispy chicken or red can signify chilidogs. When selecting a color keep in mind your customers and envision what colors they’ll relate to.

Using Imagery Properly

The use of imagery in a food logo design is crucial. In general, logos are memorable with the use of imagery and the brand name. Company’s need to be smart when selecting the imagery and font size, as it can have a positive impact on the business.

Identifiable Images

Restaurants need to remember to select pictures that will resonate with their food and specialty meals. For example, if one is opening a Vietnamese place then have tasty Pho. As people think of Vietnamese food pho comes to their mind hence it’s a perfect choice.

Pleasant Ambiance

Using images and fonts that are pleasant and welcoming in a food logo design will create a friendly perception in the customer’s mind. For example Carl’s Jr. has a star with a smiley face on it which illustrates that when you visit a Carl’s Jr. you’ll have a pleasurable and happy experience.

Tagline

When designing a logo, a good tagline goes a long way. A good tagline can help communicate your business goals. For example, Subway’s tagline ‘eat fresh’ when you go to a subway chain you know you’ll be eating freshly made bread with fresh meat and veggies. This helps the customer better associate with your brand offering.

Versions

Having multiple versions of your food logo design will help attract more people. As a business you need understand your market and see which way of reaching will best suit them. Not everyone is active on social media or reads online content, hence billboards and magazine ads work better. A younger generation is more active on their smartphone and tablets hence social media is an apt way of reaching them. Multiple logos in general help give the brand a stronger identity.
