How to Flash Your CS918 Android Smart TV Box

Recently, I focus on introducing some new Android Smart TV Box with the new cool RK3288 chip (Know more about RK3288), such as CS928 and CS918II. Some days before, one customer experience some difficulties of flashing the CS918, today I wrote this CS918 flashing tutorial.Actually, The following flashing method is applicable to many RK series machine. Of course, some on is not very familiar with the flashing Android TV Box, please contact us for the correct method.

Well, let's start it…

Download

Firstly, download the CS918 Firmware from here, put it in somewhere of your computer you can find easily, then download the recovery tool “EarnWisdom-RKBatchTool v1.6.zip” from here, then unzip it, you can find the following contents.

 

 

Install the USB Driver

Connect CS918 Android TV Box with computer through the USB cable.

Go to “My Computer”

 

 

Go to “System Properties”

 

 

Go to “Device Manager”

 

Find the CS918 device

 

Click the Mouse Right --- Update Driver Software

Find the right USB Driver from “Rockusb_v3.0” folder.

 

NOTE: Install the right USB Driver is important, the wrong USB Driver will cause the faulty of flashing CS918.

 

Flash

Find the “RKBatchTool”, run it, you can find following Interface. Operation as shown below to find the IMG file.

 

Disconnect the USB cable of the CS918 TV Box and computer, keep the power on state. 
At the bottom of CS918 TV Box, you can find the “Recovery” botton, then keep pressing the recover button, do not loose it, at the same time, connect the OTG port with computer through USB cable . after 3-5s, release the recovery button. Then you can find that the “connect device” icon on the “batchtool” will changed to blue, as below:

 

Then Click “update” for recovery, this procedure will cost 3 minutes also, please wait patiently, during recovery/upgrade, don’t remove the USB cable.

When the prompt window appears as shown in following picture, then means recovery is successful, pull out USB cable, then total process is finished.
