What is interdisciplinary design?

A form of design that prevails to lay emphasis on solving the problems, instead of depicting the individual emotions is called interdisciplinary design. After the World War II, the industrial revolution entered its next phase and since then designs are considered to be equipped with functionalities and aesthetic appeal. This theory gave birth to interdisciplinary concept in design.  

The extended definition of interdisciplinary design can be, “A design which includes two or more disciplines practiced by the group of designers is called interdisciplinary design.” After the IR, the technology became more accessible and common amongst people. It made it compulsory for the designers to come up with the blend of design and technologies for product designing. Thereafter the interdisciplinary design came into existence.

Interdisciplinary or intersection design refers as to a design that can interact with the human and follow the commands given by human. For example, mobile phone is the perfect example of interaction design that produces the output according to the commands given by you.
