How to create an outdoor oasis for your kids

by Groshan Fabiola I try to cover as many topics as I can

Youngsters nowadays are so busy watching TV or playing computer games that they rarely have the time to do anything else. Children should be engaging in activities that invite happiness and peace of mind, such as swimming. Summertime has arrived and you don’t have any more time to waste. So, what are you going to do?

You need to find a way to get the kids outside. An option is to create a fun place where your little ones can decompress and escape social and academic pressure. Put simply, you should create an outdoor oasis. Creating an outdoor oasis for your children isn’t as hard as you think. What is harder is to make a decision. Keep on reading to learn how you can transform your backyard into an oasis.

Build a sturdy tree house

Children long to have a personal sanctuary. What they need is a place where they can feel safe and that they can share with their group of friends, such as a spot under a tall tree. Why don’t you give your kids a designated space that lets them enjoy the backyard, such as a tree house. A tree house provides the youngsters the opportunity to get away from it all and experience adventure.

Life in a tree house isn’t a necessity anymore. It’s simply a matter of choice. Anyway, it’s a modern day luxury that you can afford. You can’t just pass up the chance to make your kids happy. Building a tree house isn’t the most difficult thing in the world. In terms of benefits, we can enumerate more hours spend physically and a closer connection with nature.

Building a tree house isn’t brain surgery. Start with choosing the right tree. A healthy tree is the best foundation for the sanctuary. If you like, you can let the neighbours know what you’re doing. However, it’s not really necessary. Install two sets of beams. When the frame is ready, you can level the platform. The longer the floor, the better.

Braces are what support the tree house. Mount them immediately and pass onto the decking. After the decking is installed, you’ll actually be able to stand on the platform.  Next, install the walls and frame the roof. Last but not least, install the access ladder and the doors. For additional protection, it’s a good idea to have a railing. When the private retreat is ready, invite the kids over.

Install an inground pool

Many homeowners think that a swimming pool is nothing else but a big pain in the wallet. Nothing could be further from the truth. Yes, you do have to pay for permits and clearances, heating, electricity, and insurance, but this won’t cause you to break the bank. A swimming pool, no matter the type, is an upgrade that increases your home’s selling price. But that’s not why you should invest in this kind of amenity. You should be thinking about your kids. Children who have swimming pools are in better health and they get to create unforgettable memories.

You should better start looking into inground pools. An inground pool makes a better choice than an above ground pool. It can take any shape you desire, having the luxury to choose the colours, materials, shape, and size. In other words, you have the possibility to achieve the appearance that you want.

When selecting a swimming pool, you have to think about child friendly features. Having a diving board is really important. It’s entertaining for the youngsters, but it can be stressful for you. The last thing you want is for your kids to get hurt. It’s true that accidents occur in rare cases, but still. Choose a diving board that visually delimits the deep end. This way, the little swimmers will see where they are jumping. Anyway, don’t stress too much because diving off diving boards isn’t all that dangerous.

Make a garden in the backyard

In case you didn’t know, gardens help kids connect with nature. Your children will get to immerse themselves in the environment. A direct experience with nature results in mental, emotional and physical health benefits. The kids will love a simple and sweet garden. Why not have your own garden? Youngsters spend less time outdoors than prison inmates, according to recent findings. Since you want nothing but the best for your little ones, build them a garden in the backyard.

If you’re looking to keep things simple, don’t opt for a vegetable garden because it takes a lot of time and effort. You should settle for planting some flowers and installing small accents like furnishings, lighting, and ceramics. Don’t forget to dress up the entrance. It doesn’t matter if the landscape is small. You can still add a little bit of mystery. Your children deserve a remarkable entryway. A garden entrance will add to the property’s appeal, so why not do it?
