Understand your product:
Having full knowledge about your offerings is must for obtaining the sale. You should know the advantages, limitations and the technical aspects of your product. People love to buy from experts and who answer all their questions regarding the product. It is necessary for a buyer to feel comfortable with you.

Know your competition:
Before buying the product, people usually inquire from 2-3 more sellers. It is very important for a sales person to know about their competitors, what products they are offering, what’s good about their product, etc. If a customer compares the products, you are always ready with the best answer.

Qualify your customer’s needs:
Knowing about your customers’ need is the most important part of a successful sale. There is no point of selling a product, which is not matching the needs and the customer is later dissatisfied with the product. It is not only about selling once but to retain your customer.

Give free trials:
If possible, always give free trials or samples of your product or services. It increases customer’s confidence in you and they willing to buy from you. This strategy works well with all businesses and results in getting a good number of sales.
Share proposal: Always share the business proposal in writing. Don’t write anything in the proposal on which customer is not agreeing. People do not believe in what they hear; they believe in what they see. Also, it will be easy for them to show the proposal to the higher authorities for approval.
Wait for the customer’s buying sign: After sharing the proposal, listen and watch for customers buying signs. It could be in the form of questions such as how is this product beneficial for me? Or price negotiations and question about other benefits , customer incentives, etc.

Close the sale:
Once you get the buying sign from the customer, it is time to stop selling and win the sale. Try to match your customer’s expectations. Don’t offer any more product or services.
