How to Clean and Preserve a Ratchet Wrench perfectly !!by Mark Peterson Sr. Editor of TopReviewsGuide
With proper care of your ratchet wrench, it can last for a very long time. So, you should always learn to clean your ratchet wrench to prevent them from rusting. Ratchet wrenches are the mechanical tools that are made from metallic alloys, so the method of cleaning and preserving them is almost the same as every other metallic mechanical tool.
When cleaning a ratchet wrench, get a gallon of warm water and add a tablespoon of gentle dish detergent to it. Soak the tools into the gallon of soapy water. After some time, scrub the tools with a sponge made of nylon. The sponge does not cause any damage to the surface of the tools, all it does is turning the soapy water into fissures.
After that, thoroughly rinse the tools until they are clean and sparkling. Then, ensure they are properly dried with a clean piece of clothing before they are stored.
The ratchet wrench should be stored in a cool and dry place, with no exposure to the sun. This will prevent it from rusting.
Another preservative measure may include; applying specific lubricants on the ratchet wrench, the use of baking soda and lemon juice on substantial dirt, and the application of substances like cocacola to clean off rusts.
