How to choose the best Laminating Machine

by Julian F. Marketing Expert
So that everyone can find their product and choose independently of our tests, which laminate cutter meets the requirements the buyer wishes, we would like to go to our guide of the most important questions and answer them for you extensively. So you can always be sure that you are familiar with the subject matter and can make independent purchasing decisions and are informed. This is particularly important to us since many portals claim their top products are the  most relevant and reflect the actual performance of the products. Since you can not always rely on such lists, we would like to introduce you specifically to the topic of laminate cutters.

Laminate cutter test: What is a laminate cutter?

A laminate cutter or parquet cutter is a medium-weight hand tool and serves as the name suggests the cutting of parquet, laminate and also vinyl plates. That is why it is now a standard equipment for every craftsman - regardless of whether it is a professional or a beginner. The hand tool has been specially designed for heavy and simple laying work and works much more precisely than a conventional saw. Even a jigsaw known to cut very precisely does not work as accurately as a laminate cutter. Moreover, jigsaw saws for laminate work and parquet work are generally less suitable for handling. In addition, the cutting tool is extremely stable and provides little wear. A laminate cutter is basically always the same:

Underframe (serves to support the laminate / parquet or to lay the workpiece)
rubberized feet for secure hold - protects against slipping during work
a rail -> here the knife moves in when pressed down
a stop for increased precision when applying the laminate
a long knife, usually made of stainless steel, which is usually very sharp and low-wear. (Can also be made of aluminum)
an adjustable lever for better control of the force required during cutting
When buying, you should also note that the presented laminate cutters are all operated by hand. Accordingly, force must be expended to convey the cutting knife through the laminate. There are also electrically operated parquet cutters. These work with an electric motor and are used with laminate, vinyl or parquet in the case of large cutting requirements. This has the decisive advantage that electrical appliances function automatically. However, since they work just as precisely and are still a lot more expensive, many people are using a laminate cutter, which is significantly cheaper. Moreover, electrical appliances are louder and require a suitable space and a connection to the socket. This is why they are rather unfavorable, especially in shell construction. Laminate cutters that operate without electricity are usable from anywhere and are therefore more advantageous and user-friendly. In addition, the great advantage of a laminate cutter is that it is dust-free. So you have to dispose of a few chipped wood particles after use. But it will definitely not de-dust when working. In the case of electrical equipment, one must also consider the operating volume. Because, unlike a low-noise normal laminate cutter, an electric model can get quite loud from time to time.
