How can one be satisfied with no options? The eyewear industry has seen a huge rise in recent years. With people opting for different types of glasses to enhance their looks, it was bound to happen. Round glasses, more importantly, and evidently, has made it big today. From movie stars to your best friend, everyone’s wearing them. I wouldn't blame you if you had the urge to buy one yourself. They are just so darn good. In a world where everyone’s wearing big, square glasses, it can be funky, conspicuous and comforting to wear round ones. The round glasses that John Lennon wears has made quite a comeback. These glasses never fail to make someone look good but selecting the right pair that suits you is key. These retro-style glasses can be a little tricky to choose and involves questions like, what size would look good on me? Or does it make me look like Harry Potter? But once you’ve chosen the pair that is right for you, there’s no looking back. You are bound to receive some fleeting glances and serious style points from people all around you. So here are some tips for when opting for round glasses:

Face Shape

First and foremost, you need to see how round glasses frame your face. Just because they looked good on Rashida Jones doesn’t mean they will suit your face shape too. Considering this is critical. Moreover, there are various types and styles of round glasses, hence you’ll have to try on plenty and select the one that you love the most. You may be wondering if you could even pull round glasses off but believe me, with the right frame for your face, you can totally rock them. With this instilled confidence, here’s how you can select round glasses based on your face shape.

If you have a round face, don’t be afraid of these glasses blending with the face shape but look for slim frames coupled with angular edges. As the height and width of round faces is same, these glasses will define your face a little more.

For a more squarish face with angled features and a relatively stronger jaw, opt for glasses with rounded angles to complement the square-ness of your face.

If your face shape is heart-shaped (with a narrow jaw and slim cheekbones), choose round glasses with heavy rims as these will shed light on your cheekbones rather than your jaw.

Size Matters

When selecting glasses online, make sure you check the size. Round glasses are available in all sizes and shapes, hence look inside the arm of your glasses. The number there will be indicating the lens width and you can tell by it if they’ll be too big for you or not. For instance, a large frame width would be 50-55 mm but this subjectively depends on your face.

Moreover, look for round glasses with nose pads in them for better support and easy viewing. Check for UV protection as that is a must and don’t get stuck on brands, go for the shape and style you love. I think it's time to pick a pair out for myself now!

Happy Shopping.
