How to Choose Men’s Office Bag and Men’s Wallet
Ask anyone what is the one thing they take when they leave home and you will get one answer for sure: their wallet. It is that one thing that finds its way into every pocket or bag, office bag at least. We women (Yes, I am a woman!) pay special attention to match our bags with our attire and become the classy and prim us, but what about the male fraternity, the darker sex (not really though!), the alpha to our beta? What do they like when it comes to accessorizing their attire? Men’s office bags and men’s wallet are the obvious answer but what are their selections based on? Before this question turns into a ticking bomb in my head I decided to take a deep plunge into their insight with a simple experiment. I took my brother for shopping on his 20th birthday not for the sisterly cause of being a humble soul but for my sneaky mission to get inside his head and understand what exactly does he thinks while shopping. After a rigorous two hour search I finally got down to segregating a few points that become the essentials of buying men’s office bags and men’s wallet. Let’s get started:
- Material Used: There are a multitude of material options ranging from synthetic fibers like nylon, polyesters, plastic polymers, felt and silicone to natural fibers like leather and cotton that can be used in manufacturing wallets and office bags. Now that came as a surprise! The most common substance a wallet is composed of is Leather (No surprises there!). Now leather also has various types. The most common is the cow hide leather which as the name suggests, is made from beating the skin of cows. Cow hide leather comes as one of the most inexpensive materials for a wallet that is both durable and reasonable. Apart from this there are other types of leathers such as alligator leather, crocodile leather and snakeskin leather that fall in the expensive category.
- Type to suit requirements: Different people have different requirements when it comes to safeguarding the green paper. There are various kinds of wallets that can suit your requirements. Breast-pocket wallet is a long and thin wallet that fits into the front pocket. If you want to carry cash bills and cards in your pocket minus the bulge, go for a bi-fold one and if the bulge doesn’t count but the amount to be carried does go for a tri-fold wallet. There are various other types like the accordion wallet that is the bulkiest of the lot and opens like an accordion with many sections, a Jimi which is a hard plastic encasement to hold few bills and cards. Similar is the scenario with office bags. Briefcase bags are the traditional way of carrying stuff to work but then again they come with high reliability factor and of course you cannot deny the elegance the vintage look gives. If you are planning a three day business trip then make sure you have a holdall that can contain few pair of clothes, folders and some boy toys. A tote is another kind of briefcase but with a modern approach.
- Money Matters: Now let’s narrow down to the basic criteria, the moolah! Yeah it’s the money I am talking about. With all that fancy information, it will certainly tempt you outside the circle, but hold your ground firm and don’t indulge into overpriced wallets and bags because that won’t do any good to you. The price of a wallet depends on the material used in it. While leather ones are the least priced ones, as you go up on the material so does its price. At the end of the day, you are the best judge of what works for you. I have only one advice, choose wisely.
This was all I could conclude from that refreshingly informative trip to the mall, about men’s wallets and men’s office bags. Yes ladies, if you are reading this, men accessories have variety too and of multi assortments like we read. I hope that the next time you go shopping for your brother, father, friend or better half; you know what to look for! You thank us later!
