How to Boost a Child's Memory?

by Rahul Tyagi Team Leader

A lot of children tend to forget things and experience a lot of difficulty in studying and learning new things owing to this. Although, the problem is normal and there is nothing serious to worry about but it is important for the parents to support and help their children if they face any such problem. A lot of things can help to boost the memory of your child thereby helping them with their studies. The staff at the leading kids learning preschools in Ghaziabad is highly specialised and trained with helping children facing difficulty with remembering things and suggest some activities that can help to boost your child's memory. These are mentioned below:

Use pictures and videos to teach your children. A lot of lessons are available online nowadays. This makes the process of learning more fun and helps your child understand and learn things better.

After teaching new things to your children allow them to teach you what they have learnt. This is not only restricted to bookish knowledge but other physical activities as well.

Suggest games that would help your child to learn new things. Use colourful blocks, point out birds, flowers and other things and ask your child to do the same.

Card games like uni crazy eights etc can help to enhance your child's memory. Ask your child to recall the rules of the game as well as remember the number on each card.

Encourage your child to read on their own. You may guide and correct them occasionally but do not impose things.

Instead of teaching things in bulk, try dividing them into small chunks or bites.

When your child returns back from school, ask them about their experience at school and let them speak their heart out. If your child does not want to talk about it at that moment, do not force them and try again later. Encourage your children to share whatever they have learnt at school.

Use multi-Sensory techniques while prescribing tasks to your child. You can also jot these down in front of your child such that they can look at these. Try to grab the attention of your child while you are talking to him/her by tossing a ball back and forth.

Let your children speak, even if they are not making any sense, let them express themselves freely. Try to motivate them in every possible way.
