by Hayate Abul Digital Marketing

Surround sound is amazing. As David Lynch rightly said, films are 50 percent visual and 50 percent sound. Sometimes sound even overplays the visual.

Surround sound adds a new aspect to movies or music. In this blog, we will guide you through the procedure to set up surround sound on computers. While there will be certain differences depending on the system that is being set up, the general process remains the same.

Get the surround sound card

In case you want to set up surround sound on your Windows computer, then you will have to get a sound card to get started. It is not guaranteed that the computer will have a surround sound card activated by default, you be sure to check.

Find the Device Manager on the PC, launch it and then check the ‘Sound, video and game controllers’ section. In case the computer has a sound card, then you will see it mentioned in the division. After that, you can look up the model on the internet to check if the card has surround sound abilities.

In case your PC does not have a surround sound capable sound card, then you can get any internal or external sound card. You will need to insert the internal one in the PCI-E slot, and the external one can be plugged into the USB port.
