Mantras have a lot of religious significance in our culture. It has been derived from ‘Manas’ which means ‘mind’ and ‘Trai’ which means to be free from. Literally, it means to free the mind from every kind of worry or trouble. If one continuously chants a mantra, he or she can experience a lot of positive changes in their life. However, it must be kept in mind that mantras must be chanted carefully, any mis-spell can bring negative results in the person’s life. One must always know the proper pronunciation and use of a mantra before they start chanting it. The Mantra chanting casts a profound effect on a person and they experience spiritual satisfaction.

Why do you think that in the Gurukul era, special classes were given to the students on ‘how to chant Mantras’? Mantra chanting requires some discipline and dedication on the part of the person who utters them. Chanting Mantra just for the sake of chanting brings no effective results.
