Self GMAT Exam Preparation Techniques

Self-preparation is one of the best and cheapest modes of preparation for the GMAT exam. Here’re some things you need to do to effectively start the GMAT preparation journey and secure a place in the college of your choice to pursue further studies.

1. Make sure you're starting your preparation journey at least 6 months before the actual date of the GMAT. From time to time, we have seen candidates going with the 8 weeks of study plan in minimum to cover the whole content related to the GMAT exam. However, it is always up to you how much time do you need because no one can judge you better than yourself, don't you think so?

2. Set a realistic goal that looks and sounds achievable. While saying this let me tell you, I am not doubting your capabilities here. But, it’s always best to realistic to achieve a target score when it is set by analyzing everything keeping in mind.

3. Try to sharpen the understanding of the different mathematical concepts because you will be asked different mathematical questions in the quant section. This is quite important because the GMAT score is dependent majorly on the quantitative section. While saying so, I’m not indicating towards ignoring other sections of the GMAT exam, they all are as important as the quant.

4. GMAT is a time-bound exam which means you need to answer all the questions at a given time. So, time management becomes a crucial thing here. That’s why candidates are advised to work on time management and practice pacing their answering speed in the GMAT Singapore test center

5. You need to review and practice different types of questions from different sections i.e.  Quantitative Aptitude, Analytical Writing Assessment, Reading Comprehension, and Verbal Reasoning during GMAT exam preparation.

6. Try solving different practice test offered on the official GMAT website to get an idea of what type of question is asked, and how much time it takes to solve them.

7. I know you must be keen to study from different study materials available over the internet but let me tell you, you should be very choosy while doing so. All study materials are not right for you. It should be chosen according to the exam goal.
