Some people dislike supplements, and most of them are in fact people who didn’t get good effects from them, not because those supplements don’t work, its because they generally don’t develop at all, being muscle gain or fat loss.

As someone who have used and am currently using supplements, i will write my opinion on what i have used so far.

Protein powders and amino acids, their purpose is to help you build muscle faster and better. You can do that with food only, but if you have the funds for these, buy them. I drink protein powders throughout whole year.

Fat burners, i used them 2 times, and i lost fat at much faster rate and better(more fat was gone when i used fat burners).

Pre-workout supplements i honestly dislike, but they do a great job at giving you motivation, strength and endurance. The key is finding the right one that will give you the best/strongest effects.

I also take minerals and vitamins on a daily basis, which help your overall health, immune system, help you with resting your muscle and raising your testosterone. Zinc, Vitamin D, Vitamin B, Vitamin C, Magnesium, Selenium. Those should be essential to every man.

People say supplements make your wallet empty, well they do, but also does drinking and smoking, and they don’t benefit you at all. 

Supplements are not necessarily needed, but will help.

Bodybuilding supplements are specifically made for weightlifting, bodybuilding & athletics. While many bodybuilding supplements are also consumed by the general public, their quantity and frequency of use may differ when used specifically by bodybuilders. They may be using it as a product to replace meals, weight gain, weight loss or improve athletic performance. 

Any supplement that is misused or abused can cause harmful side effects. For example, even too much Vitamin C can cause severe diarrhea. However, that does not mean that Vitamin C is generally harmful or to be avoided. Testosterone boosters, creatine, pre-workout supplements and fat burners are often associated with bad side effects.
