Guidelines for the preparation of IBPS PO 2020

IBPS PO 2020 exam dates are out. The exam will be held in three rounds - preliminary, mains, and the interview round. This year too, on 3rd and 4th October, lakhs of candidates will appear for the posts of Probationary Officers in the participating banks. 

The exam pattern will be as follows:

1. Preliminary round: The preliminary exam will be held on the 3rd and 4th of October. The exam will be conducted in the online medium consisting of 3 sections: Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability, and English Language. To crack the exam, candidates have to clear both sectional and overall cutoff)

Exam duration: 60 min

Total marks: 100

Total questions: 100 (35 from Quantitative Aptitude, 35 from Reasoning Ability, 30 from the English Language)

2. Mains round: This exam can be given through both offline and online medium. It would have an objective as well as descriptive questions. IBPS PO Mains exam’s objective pattern has 4 sections: Data Interpretation and Analysis, Reasoning and Computer Awareness, General Awareness, and English Language. The descriptive paper has 2 questions: Essay writing and Letter writing.

Exam duration: 210 min (180 min for objective and 30 min for descriptive)

Total marks: 225 (200 for objective and 25 for descriptive)

Total questions: 157 (200 for objective and 25 for descriptive)

3. Interview round: Interview round is the final step in the selection procedure. Held for 100 marks, it is a face to face interaction round conducted only through an offline medium. Candidates will be tested for personal traits and communication skills. 

Passing percentage: 40% (35% for reserved categories)
