In a matter of days our world has completely turned upside down only because of Covid’19. This unexpected pandemic came and took over the world with a storm. It has made you do things that you would have never thought of doing. If you’ve never worked from home, suddenly you are. If you do work from home, you may now have a full household due to school closures or a partner now working from home as well.
Some of us are still finding it difficult to cop up with the situation and getting used of the new environment. But some of us have definitely found the center point and are trying to find peace in this situation and saying focused.
Quarantine has become the usual thing in today’s time and has become the new way to live a life. But still staying at home all the time or doing everything from home can be stressful and difficult to focus on.
Everyone has his own way to take things and situations, but there are some basic points which every can follow and keep themselves motivated and focused.

·       First of all, set your sleeping schedule, because if you wake up and sleep at the right time and get your perfect 8 hours sleep then you would automatically feel mentally fresh and energetic for the next day. And would be able to do things with more concentration.

·         After getting up, straight away eat something good, something fresh and not processed. If you eat healthy you’ll feel fresh and light. If you’ll have soda or junk food as the first thing in the morning, then it would make you feel even more lethargic.

·         Being active in quarantine is very important. And for that you should exercise or workout once in a day. Working out at least 30-60 minutes in a day would just not keep you in a shape but would also make your mood better and would help in flowing your endorphins. And at last you’ll feel active and productive.

·         Make your work space clean and creative so that you would want to work their and perform good. Please don’t count your bed and couch in your workspace. You need to have a separate place in order to stay productive and to get into the zone of professionalism.

If you are a student and in lockdown you are unable to get classes, online tutoring can be a great alternative for you. You can easily learn about different subjects and do online courses by taking online tutoring from different websites.

Above mentioned are some of the points to be kept in mind in order to stay mentally focused. Now let’s discuss some of the points that has to be done practically in order to make your day at home efficient.

·         First of all, you have to set an intention for the day. This may include your agenda for the day or what are the tasks you want to get done with in a day so that you have things to look forward in the day. And at the same time do whatever emerges in your mind just to stay motivated and creative.

·          After making or setting the intention make a list of your tasks according to your priority. Keep 2-3 things that you really want to do in your list. Keep things realistic and set micro goals so that it doesn’t bother you and are easier to achieve.

·         Don’t take things seriously or on your nerves. If there are some tasks that you don’t want to do or cannot do in that particular day, then shift them on tomorrow. Don’t take burden on yourself.

·         You have to practice mindfulness. Meaning, you have to put your heart and soul in the tasks that you do throughout the day, make them interesting. Be it washing the dishes, cooking, cleaning or folding the laundry. If you would do things with compassion, then it would bring flavor in your life.

·         At this point keep one thing in your mind that you cannot do everything nor you can control everything. So accept and let go of the things that cannot be done. Inhale and exhale to feel light.

·         Take mini breaks. Don’t do everything in one go or consider yourself a machine who has to do all the things there and then. So take small breaks in-between, so that you do one task with you full potential. And can get a desired outcome from that task.

·         Don’t get yourself indulged into work only. Be it household work or professional work. Give yourself some time to have fun or “Me Time”. This will boost your mental health.

·         Last but not the least, reward yourself. Appreciate yourself that you have made it through the day. Feel gratitude towards the God or towards your family members, that  they have helped you in that day. And try to give back that same compassion to others, which others have showed you throughout the day.
