St Bavo’s Cathedral - St Bavo’s Cathedral is located in the eastern part of the city. It is a massive Church made of brick and granite that is located on the spot of the Saint Jans Church. Later in the 14^th century it was used as a place of conducting administrative operations of the land. By the early 18^th century it was converted to a cotton mill with flats for the workers.

Belfry of Ghent – The Ghent Belfry is situated to the west of the St Bavo’s Cathedral and is a 91 meter tall symbol of city’s independence.
