Getting married in a barn

When it comes time to tie the knot, one of the first things you’ll think about is the venue. Barn wedding venues are becoming popular wedding choices for brides looking for something different for their big day. Here are some great venues.

Mythe Barn, Leicestershire

This is a stunning barn that offers the whole wedding package. The Oak Barn has been designed especially for civil ceremonies and can comfortably seat 150 guests. The Minstrel’s gallery provides the perfect spot for musicians and photographers.

On the first floor of the barn is the Honeymoon suite which is great for brides and their entourage for getting ready. It can then be glammed up for newlyweds to spend their first married night together.

Redhouse Barn, Worcestershire

As far as barn wedding venues go, this magical venue boasts two converted barns that are linked by a contemporary lounge bar. The Redbrick Barn can accommodated 100 guests for civil ceremonies and the Oak Frame Barn can seat up to 160 guests for a wedding breakfast. The Bridal room allows the bride to get ready in peace and the extensive gardens and Koi ponds make for wonderful photo backdrops.

Curradine Barns, Worcestershire

This is one of those barn wedding venues that has everything. There’s the Entrance Lounge & Bar, Gardens, Granary Cottage, Granary Barn, Barley Barn and Curradine Barn. Each barn sits a different amount of guests and the gardens are spectacular for memorable photographs. The Granary Cottage offers luxury accommodation for the newlyweds on their marital night.

Packington Moor, Staffordshire

The Oat Barn seats up to 120 guests and is licensed for civil ceremonies. The vaulted ceiling, reception area and evening reception area make this one the favoured barn wedding venues with brides and grooms. Packington Moor’s gardens are stunning for photographs and there is the added romanticism of the Secret Garden. Walter’s Cottage is a romantic room where the newlyweds can spend the night.

Lains Barn, Oxfordshire

This is one of those barn wedding venues that’s located south of Oxford and is available for civil ceremonies or wedding receptions with the capability of accommodating as many as 180 guests. There is no on site accommodation but there are many hotels nearby.

The Tythe Barn, Oxfordshire

This is a working farm with 3 wedding ceremony options. The barn itself seats 130 guests and the Cowshed can manage 40 guests for more intimate ceremonies. Couples are also able to marry in the grounds. The barn has floor to ceiling glass doors, thatched roof and thick stone walls making it ideal for your ceremony, wedding reception or both. There is also loads of outdoor space for a marquee.

Dodford Manor, Northamptonshire

Dodford Manor is able to cater for weddings from 30 to 170 guests. There are 2 barns at this venue with Mortain Barn being the ideal setting for the ceremony with its glazed barn doors and thick stone walls. The Manor Barn offers incredible views of the countryside and the oak posts and beams make is a gorgeous setting for a breakfast and reception.
