They help reduce constipation since they contain 14 gm of dietary fibre for each 1000 calories you consume. A quarter cup of raisins will give you 2 gm of dietary fibre. They are also rich in iron and when eaten daily will help you meet your recommended dosage of 8 mg for men and women above the age of 50. According to the 2013 review in the Journal of Food Science, regular eating of raisins is associated with a lowering of blood glucose, lower cholesterol, and reduction in blood pressure as well as reduced triglyceride levels.
