Forever and Eh, Maybe Not

by Fusion 360 Studios Digital Marketing Specialists

It’s a well-known fact that the success rate of marriages isn’t great. Fifty percent of married couples end up getting a divorce. What ever happened to happily ever after? For better or for worse? Forever and always? Is there no hope of falling in love, let alone, staying in love?

The words that are exchanged during a wedding ceremony sound promising and sincere. Couples will have problems, face challenges and go through hard times. That is just reality. No relationship is ever perfect. The first step in improving a relationship is to accept that.

Is it possible to fall out of love? Yes. Is it inevitable? No. Falling out of love shouldn’t be something you fear when thinking about marriage with your significant other. Every couple, in Utah or anywhere else, will have issues that are more difficult to resolve than others. This doesn’t necessarily mean that these issues will break up a marriage.

There are so many factors and stresses in a romantic relationship. Conflicts in relationships become much more complicated as we grow older and more mature. Being in a relationship is a learning experience, it can be a positive one or a negative one; it’s up to you to decide how you want to resolve your conflicts and improve your relationship.

In Utah, many couples get married at a very young age where there are a multitude of issues and challenges they may face.  Problems arise and it may seem that all is lost and giving up is the only option. However, young Utah couples, or couples anywhere for that matter, should not let these issues discourage them or lose faith in their relationship.

Marriage therapy is a great resource for couples to use to get back to a healthier place in their relationship. Therapy helps partners see issues from their loved one’s perspective and learn healthy strategies and solutions to resolve their conflicts. Communication is key in relationships, no matter what age.

Marriage therapy helps couples communicate in effective, constructive and positive ways. In the case of a young newly wed couple in Utah, or a husband and wife who have been married for thirty years, marriage therapy can improve and strengthen almost any relationship.

Falling out of love is not inevitable. There are such things as happy endings. Everyone needs a little help sometimes. Counseling and communication can improve a relationship that has discouraged loved ones.
