Football English Premier League
A few weeks ago, something amazing happened: England defeated Germany 3-2 ahead of the Euro 2016 Championship. This filled the English fans with a lot of confidence in their team for the upcoming Euro 2016, but probably this was a celebration too soon.
The first half of the match saw England falling behind Germany 2-0, naturally making Germans the favourites to win. However, in an exciting second half this prediction fell short. Eric Dier, Harry Kane, and Jamie Vardy (who came in as a substitute) scored in a goal each in the second half, helping England turn their fate around and defeat Germany 3-2. With this victory, England’s hopes for a Euro 2016 clinch were understandably raised.
But this turned out to be a celebration too early, and the moment of truth for England arrived in their next match again Holland a couple of days later.Jamie Vardy, who had scored one of the winning goals for England in the previous match, gave them early lead in this match as well. He scored the first goal in the first half, giving an early lead to England, and raising their hope for second successive win. However, Holland made an easy comeback in the second half when two of its players, Vincent Janssen and Luciano Narsingh, scored a goal each and led the team to victory. As this was the final game for England before the start of Euro 2016, they are certainly not happy with ending the season on a losing note.
When it comes toEuro 2016, England fans are keeping their hopes subdued, as the English team doesn’t have a very successful history in the championship; the English team are yet to reach UEFA European Championship final yet.
In another news from the English Premier League, a number of transfers are impending and creating a buzz. The most notable of these transfer newsis the rumours of PSG (Paris Saint-Germain) star ZlatanIbrahimovic, who is supposed to have received offers from a number of English clubs. It remains to be seen whether he will go ahead and accept any these offers. Although, Ibrahimovic’s transfer news/rumours have sparked different reactions from a couple of his team mates, two of the prominent ones of whom are Angle di Maria and Thiago Silva. While Di Maria, who himself had a flop stint with Manchester United, says he will be support Ibrahimovic in whatever decision he makes. However, Silva is of the opinion that Ibrahimovic’s move to the English Premier League will actually be a step down for him. It will be interesting to see what Ibrahimovic finally decides.
