Fight Right: Combat Scorching Summer Heat With Double Glazed uPVC Windows

by Ankita Sehgal Freelance Blogger, Lives in New Delhi
Temperatures are soaring and the summer heat wave is back in full swing. The air-conditioning units in our homes and offices are overworked and the energy bills are also skyrocketing. The damage to our health and to our finances is now on a rise. There is a simple solution, though, to combat this heat without adding to the electricity consumption and carbon footprint. Double glazed window glasses make for the perfect energy saver, particularly when used with uPVC windows. These are specially treated glass windows that enable adequate insulation. Couples with fitted uPVC frames these are perfect for homes and offices.

Glass windows are often the preferred choice for homes and offices because they allow an ample amount of natural light which naturally reduces the need for artificial light and also the strain on eyesight. The one great disadvantage that homeowners often complain of, though, is the fact that in summers the need for air-conditioning is rather high, given that these windows allow the cool air indoors to escape and the heat to enter. This makes tight fitted and even custom-made uPVC window frames the perfect alternative. Unlike wood and metal windows the uPVC material along with the casings creates airtight windows that keep the heat at bay.

AIS Windows also offer a number of energy-efficient glasses such as AIS Opal, AIS Sunshield, and AIS Ecosense which are specially treated and double glazed to allow the light in while keeping the indoor temperature very comfortable. Glass is the main element of the window. A double-glazed glass is in fact made up of two sheets of glass with a thin air pocket in between. This trapped air in between the glass sheets creates the insulating barrier absorbing much of the heat resulting in a marked difference between the indoor and outdoor temperatures even when the air-conditioning is not at work. These also make for great soundproof windows, although AIS Windows offers specialized solutions for your soundproofing needs.

What makes these double-glazed uPVC windows a great option is the fact that their insulation properties work just as well in winters too, reducing the need for room heating appliances. Not only do these reduce energy consumption and power bills considerably, these make for a perfect fit if you are looking to design and construct a green, environment friendly building. Another major advantage of double-glazed windows is that they reduce the damaged caused by the harmful UV rays of the sun by limiting UV penetration. This protects the furniture, carpets and furnishings, and light sensitive devices near the window.
