Real Estate in Colorado Springs: Education Requirements

The realtor education is different through the States and so are the licensing requirements, the application process, fees, exam style, and the topics covered in the Real Estate education.

Pre-licensing

For you to get a Real Estate license in Colorado state, you’ll have to complete a compulsory 168 pre-licensing education and only then you’ll be eligible to sit in the Real Estate licensing exam.

The topic break-down is as follows:

-Real Estate Law and Practice (48 hours)

-Colorado Contracts and Regulations (48 hours)

-Trust Accounts and Record Keeping (8 hours)

-Current Legal Issues (8 hours)

-Real Estate Closings (24 hours)

-Practical Applications (32 hours)

Moreover, you need to pass both the national and state portion of the Colorado real estate broker exam.

Continuing Education

As a Real Estate broker or agent, your education never really stops. You need to keep up with the change in trends, contracts, and any new-age stuff that’s coming in.

Colorado Real Estate education requires all realtors to complete 24 hours of continuing education every three years of your license. The course comprises of 12 hours of elective credits and the rest for 4-hour Annual Commission Update Course.

Annual Commission Update

Every active Real Estate professional is expected to take this compulsory four-hour course and pass the exam. This annual course covers recent issues around rules & regulatory and practices.
