This movie is the end of an era in superhero movies. The Avengers: Endgame has been probably the most awaited film in the past few years. It was released at the end of April worldwide to become a roaring box office success. It premiered in Los Angeles on April 22, 2019, and has been raking in millions of dollars since then. As of May 7, it has a worldwide gross of $2 billion.

The Plot
Tony Stark and Nebula are defeated by Thanos but returned to earth by Carol Danvers. They reunite with Natasha Romanoff and Bruce Banner. Steve Rogers, Thor, and James Rhodes also join the team of Avengers. They make a plan to steal the Infinity Stones back from Thanos. Five years elapse after The Decimation in which half the universe has been wiped out. Scott Lang forms a plan to use the quantum realm for time travel and go back to the past. He goes to Stark with the idea, but the latter is initially in two minds. However with Stark on board with the plan the Avengers Romanoff, Banner, Barto, etc. unite for their project.

With a time machine, they set out to find the Infinity Stones before Thanos can discover them. After they have collected the stones, it is put into a gauntlet which is wielded by Banner (Hulk). Thanos returns to Earth for war and defeats Rogers, Thor, and Stark.

In the ensuing battle, Stark dies, and Rogers returns to 1940s to live with Carter.

Box Office Reception
It is the highest grossing movie in 2019 and is exciting and painful at the same time. It was said the title could have been Avengers: Annihilation but Avengers: Endgame was chosen finally after a lot of debate by the producers.

Like Infinity War this episode too has been directed by the Russo Brothers. The exciting g plot about undoing The Decimation has caught the imagination of everyone. The score by Alan Silvestri is unparalleled, and the cast has done their best to inject pathos as well as a lot of energy into the film. The cast is definitely smaller than before as Infinity war ended with the death of several Marvel Comic heroes.

It is the culmination of a decade long Avengers film series which has grossed about $17 billion till now.

Last Thoughts
This culminating episode is exceptionally watchable. Not too many of the hyped films live up to the buildup, but this one definitely does. The story has a lot of innovations, and even though we know what is going to happen, it takes plot twists and turns to keep the audience on the edge of the seat. Over the past six months, there have been many theories about how the film saga would end, and Thanos wiped out. The arguments have been put to rest as this beautiful homage has been released. Some feel the story was a little slow in places, but the kind of reception it has received from critics and audiences shows it will be one of the most excellent superhero movies ever.
