During this pandemic, every digital platform is working to grab the audience by hook or by crook. In this lockdown, everyone is locked in the home and exploring the new field of the digital world. That’s why most of the video conferencing tools and websites are introducing new techniques and working harder to create a more user-friendly interface. Amid these changes, YouTube is also doing their contribution to its audience.

YouTube Bedtime Reminder

YouTube is a popular live or video streaming platform that is rolling with a new update this week for its users. They named this feature as the bedtime feature that will be available for both iOS and Android users. Everyone will be able to use this feature in the coming days.

As the name suggests, it is an option that may tell you that it’s time to approach the bed and stop watching the videos. Before today, there was no option available on the application, but after some days, you will be going to use this exciting feature on your smartphone.

There is another option which is already existing on YouTube that will always remind you to take a break when you are watching videos for a longer duration. This feature is essential as these kinds of platforms are addictive in nature, and once you start watching the video, the time flies away. According to a research website, the total watch time of YouTube is more than the total watched time of the combination of Netflix and Facebook. The average viewing session was more than 40 minutes, so think about how addictive YouTube is.

Here are the steps to set the bedtime reminder

If you want to set a reminder for you that may remind you that it’s time to sleep, then follow the steps that are mentioned below.

You will find both the option for bedtime and the break time reminder in the setting option of the YouTube application. Being more specific, you will find these options on the page of the general settings and the time watched page. By the time the blog is posted, this new feature has not been rolled out, but you will enjoy this feature shortly. There, you will see two options, one is already available that is “Reminds me to take a break,” and the other will be available “Reminds me for the Bed Time.”

Once you have enabled these features, you will see a pop-up with the time. There you may need to set the timer for bed or break. So, it will be more helpful if you choose a suitable time for taking the break or winding down the session. It is always preferred that not to choose your actual bedtime as it can harm your eyes. Choose a time, little early from your actual bedtime, so that your eyes will recover itself before sleeping. Even the leading Ophthalmology institute always recommends sleeping after one or two after watching a blue screen or TV/Smartphone.

For now, break reminder is doing a great job, after the time you have fixed, the application will remind you to take a break and suggest you some activity like get up or look at something else or have a 2-minute walk.

There is an option for dismissing the snooze of the reminder if you are ready for resuming the video streaming. You can also set a reminder according to the end time of the video, which means you can set the reminder until the present video is playing. If the video ends, then the application will remind you of its bedtime.

Now, YouTube might be proving helpful in getting a much more comfortable sleep to keep your eyes in pink health. So, wait for the new feature to be launch for the YouTube Users.
