An important rule regarding the preservation of wooden floors is to maintain them from getting damaged by water. Tarnishing, cupping, and crackling can happen if the water is in direct contact with wood. However, to maintain flake flooring, we have various tips for you that are mentioned below.

Maintain the Wood Regularly

Keep your floors dust-free by sweeping, mopping (using an unprocessed or gently treated dirt mop) and vacuuming them. The utilization of mats that seize the transport of coarse dirt is recommended. In case your floor is tarnished because of spilled liquids, scrub or mop that to maintain them.

Remove the Stains

Stains may be averted or reduced by retaining the flooring using wax and through wiping up spilled liquid instantly. Or you can opt for wooden floor sanding and polishing once a year to make your floor shine.

Here are a few tips for removing stains, just make sure to start with the outside edge and move closer to the centre to save the spill from spreading.

1. Stains as a result of standing water: wipe the area with metallic wool, re-wax, or you can also use sandpaper. Rinse the area and the stains using steel wool and metallic substances or a floor cleaner. Wait for a while for the floor to dry. Implement matching finish to the floor, spreading into the surrounded spots. After the finish dries up, use the wax for the best results.

2. Milk or solid stains: Scrub the area with a moist cloth. Buff dry and then wax.

3. Blackened areas: (a) wipe the area and the surrounded spots with metal wool and a floor cleaner or metallic substance. (b) Rigorously wipe the area with vinegar. (c) even when the spot stays, use sandpaper for wooden floor sanding and polishing, then wax again and polish.

4. Marks of heels and caster: Scrub thoroughly with metallic wool and a floor cleaner. Clean dry and then polish.

5. Stains of ink: Do the same as you did with dark spots.

6. Pets stains: You can remove the spots that are not too old caused by animals at your home easily. If the stains require a lot of cleaning, the impacted floors may also be repolished.

7. Mildew: Mould is a condition of the surface which is a result of moist and dirty air. See if the room is fully ventilated, utilize an antiseptic cleaner that is powerful for using on mildews.

8. Chewing gums, crayons, candle waxes: Use ice till the deposit is sufficiently breakable to disintegrate. Cleansing the marks of liquid spilled across the spot will soak below the deposit and make it lose after that rinse with a damp cloth.

9. Cigarette marks: If the stains are not so deep, use metal wool regularly to get rid of them. Damp the metallic wool using soap and water to enhance its usefulness.

10. Alcohol stains: Wipe with liquid, wax, pale polish flaxseed oil, or a fabric slightly moistened with ammonia and wax again on the affected area to remove the stains.
