Essential Heavy Equipment for Farming

by Wave Construction Construction
Gone are the days when farmers only needed one hundred per cent manpower. Now, farming is a lot easier thanks to the farming machinery available. However here in the Philippines, not all farmers can afford to buy their own heavy equipment, making heavy equipment rental service in the Philippines their best partners in the business.

Here are the most of the common types of heavy equipment you can use for farming:

Tractor

A tractor is one of the most important pieces of equipment for every farmer. It can perform several tasks, depending on the tools and trailers attached to it. In the United States, tractors and other farm vehicles have registrations and restrictions, including the distance they can travel from the farm. But here in the Philippines, it is also used for transporting products.

Trucks

Trucks are also essential for farmers especially if there’s a lot of transporting happening around the farm.

Farm trucks here in the Philippines are widely used to transport goods and products to markets so it has to be always ready for long travel. That’s why most farmers choose to rent trucks from a place that provides construction equipment rental in the Philippines because it is more reliable and a lot cheaper than buying a new one.

Harrow

Though it only works as an attachment to a tractor, a harrow is a great tool for breaking down the soil, making it ideal for planting.

Many confuse harrows from the plow, but the only main difference between the two is that a plow cuts deeper into the soil while a harrow only disturbs the surface and breaks the lump of soil left by the plow.

Fertilizer and Manure Spreader

Spreaders are another piece of heavy equipment attached to the tractor. As the name goes, it spreads fertilizer or manure evenly over the field.

Harvester

A harvester is another important machine that cuts down physical labor of the farmers. Harvesters can be for reaping, threshing or separating light chaff or winnowing.

These are just the basic equipment you can consider purchasing to make your farming easier and more efficient. If you are planning to buy, it’s ideal to go for a tractor first and then slowly add some attachments. For equipment you that won't be able to use all the time like trucks, you can try just renting.
