3 Tips When Constructing Your Own Place

by Wave Construction Construction

“Public spending on infrastructure projects is targeted to reach 8-9 trillion pesos from 2017-2022.”

This sentence is posted on the Build Build Build (BBB) program official website. With around 60 major projects around the Philippines and about 4 in Davao alone, construction as an industry is still standing strong as ever.

With these 4 major projects and some smaller projects, Davao is currently undergoing a phase of ongoing construction. From these major projects to even the smallest of houses, construction is a process that should be given the utmost importance. That’s why when you’re selecting a company to assist you with construction, whether it’s with equipment or services, don’t forget to pick out the best for you.

If you’re someone who is currently constructing your dream house or even a small company constructing your own office, be sure to check out some of these basic guidelines for construction:

I. If you don’t know how to construct your own home, don’t forget to research

Research, research, research. This is something that you will be needing if you decide to oversee the construction of your house by yourself. Don’t be afraid to ask for consultations once in a while. Consultations may be added to your own budget, but it's better than having a house you’re unsatisfied with. Additionally, consultations are necessary in helping you comply with the local requirements and limitations.

There are many risks when it comes to building your own house, but with a little hard work, research, and a contingency plan; you’ll be fine!

II. Be sure to use the best supplies

If it can be done, it’s good to go with a budget, but it’s essential not to get too stingy when you're building your own home. The best supplies may be a bit pricier, but it also saves you future additional costs and --if on the off-chance of some kind calamity occurring-- your life.

One great example for this is using autoclaved aerated concrete or AAC blocks instead of solid concrete blocks. AAC blocks may cost more but the whole project cost actually tends to decrease. In order to achieve a proper structure, you would require more solid concrete blocks as opposed to if you were using AAC blocks, where the only cost production you need is per unit. Be sure to research before you choose an AAC supplier.

III. Rent instead of buying construction equipment

Yes, renting instead of buying construction equipment is actually much more cost-effective. If you’re not a construction company, renting construction equipment would be easier for your budget. This is especially true if you are in need of a specific type of equipment for only a short amount of time as most services charge per hour.

There are many heavy equipment rental service providers in the Philippines. So don’t just focus on choosing the cheapest one, make sure you get the best one. Be sure to research when you are in need of these services as some are also open to negotiate the rates.

If you’re someone who is constructing your own home or something you will soon own, be sure to check out Wave Construction Industries Inc. They are one of the best AAC suppliers in Davao and are even available to ship equipment throughout the whole Philippines.  Plus, if you're in need of some heavy equipment,  they are  rental service providers in Davao that you can trust.
