Engineering Exams & Their Preparation in India

The Joint Entrance Examination or the JEE as it is commonly known is an engineering-based entrance the exam used by students for entry to a number of engineering institutes in India. JEE is comprised of 2 individual parts – the Joint Entrance Examination Main and the Joint Entrance Examination Advanced. To be eligible to appear forth JEE Advanced examination, the student needs to attain the minimum cut off marks in the JEE Main examination.

The Joint Entrance examination is an objective type examination and is internationally considered to be one of the most arduous admission tests for students at the undergraduate level. Considering the difficulty and the importance of a good score in these exams, especially for students wishing to pursue higher education in the various branches of the Engineering and related streams, it is not uncommon to see students preferring to take a year off after their 12th standard course to solely prepare and practice for this examination. The Joint Entrance Examination is conducted in three phases – 1 online phase and 2 offline. It is predicted approximately 1,200,000 students would appear for the JEE tests this year.
The Joint Entrance The examination is usually undertaken by students seeking admission to Bachelor of Technology and Bachelor of Architecture courses of study being offered by the various branches of the Indian Institute of Technology, the National Institute of Technology and different centrally funded institutes and colleges across the country. This is in addition to various other government and private institutes and colleges that consider the results of the JEE (Main) examination while admitting a student.
There are a number of score calculators available that can predict or evaluate an examiner’s final score based on the paper sets and the OMR answer sheet as completed by them. Most of such online tools require two basic sets of data while calculating or predicting a student’s score – the student’s JEE (Main) examination roll number, and the code of the booklet associated with the examination. While online JEE Mains Rank predictors  are available to predict a student’s score after the examination, a al7 good’ JEE Main score varies based on the institute a student wishes to get admitted to and the branch of study of his or her choice.
The results for the JEE Main (I) examination will be declared online on April 30 while the result of the JEE Main (II) examination will be available online on May 31, 2018. Along with their final JEE score, the result will also include the candidate’s All India Rank (AIR) and the All India Rank by category.

The students will also be able to review the qualification status of the Joint Entrance Examination 2018. Qualified students will be eligible to sit for the 2018 JEE Advanced examination.
