After the Ford F150 won the Urban Truck of the Year Award, it grabbed headlines around Utah for its innovative new aluminum body. But there are several features about the new Ford F150 that are a little more low-key, but still worth noting.

Meticulously Designed Steering Wheel

A four-spoked steering wheel and an unclosed-off bottom portion were important factors in designing the new steering wheel. These factors are meant to make it easier to feel wheel placement, which is vital for towing a trailer.

Finger Indents

The slight finger indents on the steering wheel allow for a firmer grip, also important when steering and towing large loads and trailers.

Improved Interior

When making improvement on the 2014 Ford F150, Ford decided to go above and beyond with its choice of materials for the interior. The entire look of the cabin is improved as well as the LCD screen and controls have been completely redesigned.

It’s Safe

The Insurance Institute and Consumer Reports experts have agreed that the Ford F150 is one of the safest trucks available for sale. The F150 has had the highest safety rating in Utah for several years.

Improved Keypad

The big buttons on the security keypad on the driver’s side door were designed specifically after market research showed truck drivers found larger buttons easier to access with work gloves.

It’s Colorful

The new 2015 model also comes in 13 different colors ranging from subtle, tinted grays to flashier, bold hues.

Larger Box Step

Ford has redesigned its box step to accommodate a full-sized work boot.

New Engine

The base engine of the outgoing F150 has been replaced with a 283-hp 3.5-liter V6 engine.
