Don't miss Norbulingka for Tibet travel
Norbulingka is the old summer time structure of the Dalai Lamas. It was designed in the 1780s by the 7th Dalai Lama and each succesive Dalai Lama included to it. Most of the extant structures were designed during the time of the Thirteenth and Fourteenth Dalai Lamas. Some structures were broken during the 50's but were renewed or fixed in 2003. It is nowadays part of a number of ancient structures that inlcude the Potala Palace as a UNESCO Globe Culture Website. As well as being the Dalai Lamas summer time property, Norbulingka was also an management center and a spiritual site.
The structure is situated within Norbulingka recreation area on the western part of Lhasa, just 3km from the Potala Palace. The recreation area is where the yearly Sho Dun or 'Yoghurt Festival' is organised. The recreation area is at an elevation of 3,650 meters (11,980 feet). Many types of blooming vegetation and vegetation are discovered within the recreation area. Some fruits vegetation such as the apple company and apricot have been placed, but did not keep fruits. The recreation area was also house to many types of creatures. During its effective interval as the Dalai Lama's house, peacocks and Brahminy geese could be discovered here. The recreation area also contains a small zoo.

The show area contains the Dalai Lama's relaxation space, bed room, meeting space and bathing room. In adiation there are 30,000 social artifacts maintained there.
