Doctor Strange 2: Everything We Know So Far About Release Date and Cast

Doctor Strange 2 is one of the most awaited upcoming Marvel movies, and actor Benedict Cumberbatch is set to appear in the lead role yet again. The 27th MCU flick was officially announced at the Comic-Con 2019, and the title is named “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.” 

Marvel’s Phase 4 plans include a range of TV shows and movies and the viewers cannot wait for them. Coming to the new Disney Plus streaming service is Marvel TV series like WandaVision, The Falcon and Winter Soldier, Ms. Marvel, What If…?, Moon Knight, and She-Hulk. On the big screen, we will be treated with Black Widow, The Eternals, Thor 4: Love and Thunder, and Shang-Chi and the Legends of the Ten Rings.

According to the Marvel CEO Kevin Feige, the on-going TV series events will be a part of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. You need a Disney Plus subscription to watch them and several other Marvel shows. Other than that, Scarlet Witch, aka Wanda Maximoff, will play an important role, and Tom Hiddleston’s Loki will feature in the film as well.

Who’s directing it?

Scott Derrickson returns on his second adventure with Doctor Strange as he is ready to direct the upcoming flick as well. The first movie was co-written by Scott alongside Jon Spaihts and C. Robert Cargill. However, the second instalment involves new writers who have yet to be formally named.

Will Loki TV series Tie into Doctor Strange 2?

Well, it is evident with Marvel’s Disney shows that Loki would tie into the MCU in some way. Also, Feige has confirmed the appearance of Tom Hiddleston in Doctor Strange 2.  In Avenger’s End Game, Loki escaped with the Tesseract and his whereabouts are unknown as of now. So, with the help of Strange’s abilities to tap into the different universe our heroes may be able to fix the past. 

The Multiverse of Madness: Plot Details

Doctor Strange 2 will be the first horror movie of the MCU using the dark magic plot as stated by Scott Derrickson, at the Comic-Con 2019. Also, the comic book was created in 1963 by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. Considering that, unlike Wanda, Hulk, or any other superhero, his power comes from the mastery of mystic spells and not from a creepy biological accident or a mutant gene.

Apart from this, Stephen will be joined by Wanda, aka Scarlet Witch. She figures out the reality of the Master of the Mystic Arts death in Avengers Infinity war. Most importantly, there is a possibility that she will end up as a threat by blaming Vision’s death on him. However, if Scarlett Witch is gone mad by grief, then she might be living happily with Vision in a parallel world in the WandaVision series.
