Differences of PE PP PS PVC

Polyethylene PE
When uncolored, it is milky white translucent and waxy. It feels creamy when touch its products, pliable and tough. It can be slightly stretched. Usually low-density polyethylene is relatively soft, with good transparency. High-density polyethylene is quite hard.
Common products: handbags, pipes, drums, bottles (calcium milk bottle), and other daily necessities.
Polyethylene is generally used to produce plastic bags, protective film, cling wrap because it is soft and non-toxic. It is environmentally friendly. Use polyethylene as raw material of protective film, we don't need to worry about environment pollution.
Polypropylene PP
When uncolored, it is white translucent and waxy. It is lighter than polyethylene. Transparency and rigidity are also better than polyethylene.
Common products: pots, barrels, furniture, film, weaving bags, caps, car bumpers and so on.
Polystyrene PS
When uncolored, it is transparent. When its products fall to the ground or beat them, you can hear the crisp sound of metal. Its gloss and transparency is very good, just like glass, brittle and easily broken. You can make scratches on the surface of its products with fingernail. Modified polystyrene is opaque.
Common products: stationery, cups, food containers, appliance housing, electrical accessories, etc.
Polystyrene is used to make plastic products, such as the mouse and keyboard, hard and brittle. Synthetic plastics containing polystyrene is normally used to produce plastic products, which are with better performance. At high temperatures it will produce toxic substances.
Polyvinyl chloride PVC
Natural color is slightly yellow translucent and shiny. Transparency is better than polyethylene and polystyrene, but worse than polystyrene. With different additives, it is divided into soft and hard PVC. Soft products are pliable and tough and it feels sticky. The hardness of hard products are higher than low-density polyethylene, but lower than polypropylene. The folding part will appear bleaching.
Common products: plates, pipes, shoe soles, toys, doors and windows, wire jacket, stationery, etc.
