The Dallas Cowboys and local Ford dealers announced the naming rights agreement for the team’s new official headquarters and practice facility in Frisco, Texas. Scheduled to open in summer 2016, the new state-of-the-art facility will be christened The Ford Center at The Star.

Official Operations

The announcement comes as construction on the center reaches the halfway mark, and extends the sponsorship of the Cowboys by the Ford Motor Co. and the Texas Ford Dealers by 10 years. Ford is the official vehicle of the Dallas Cowboys. While the Ford F-150 is popular from Utah to the East Coast, it is especially big in the Lone Star State.

Along with housing the Cowboys’ six-story, 435,000 square-foot headquarters and accompanying training grounds, the center will include two outdoor fields, retail and restaurant space, an Omni hotel and an additional office.

Community Involvement

Ford and the Texas Ford Dealers will play an integral part in the relationship between the Cowboys and the City of Frisco. In addition to housing the Cowboys’ official football operations, the multi-use stadium will host graduations, Frisco Independent School District events, and a number of other sport, entertainment, fine arts and academic events. The Ford Company is proud to support community involvement.

From Utah to the Midwest, the Ford Company is a big proponent of high school football. According to Stephen Jones, Cowboys COO, “the big picture is the relationship with the kids here.” Jones hopes the new center will give back to local children and open new opportunities for them.

Benefitting Frisco

According to the Mayor of Frisco, the new event center will “create jobs, boost tourism, plus enhance entertainment and economic development benefiting our residents.”

The headquarters and event center are part of a bigger, 91-acre Cowboys development along the Dallas North Tollway in Frisco.

Mayor Maher Maso hopes the new center make Frisco a household name, from the Pacific Northwest to Utah.
