Curtain Call for the Performance of the Ford Fusion ST
Ford is a name people love and trust. People who enjoy camping and road trips to places such as Utah love having a reliable pickup for all of their outdoor adventure needs. Ford’s trucks are among some of its most popular vehicles, but the motor company caters to drivers looking for sedans, SUVs and even hybrids. Truthfully, you almost can’t go wrong with a Ford.
Simply put, Ford’s done it again. The prestigious motor company continues to impress dealers and buyers with new models being released in the upcoming year. The new Ford Fusion ST, in particular, is expected to look new and improved.
Ford has several ST vehicle models, but the newest is the second version of the original Ford Fusion ST. Many people form Utah to the East Coast ask dealers, “What’s so special about an ST? What does ST even mean?”
In short, ST stands for “sport technologies.” Edmuds.com describes ST vehicles, saying, “ST is not about how fast you can go, but how much fun you can have going fast. For that you need to feel the connection to the machine provided by a quick gearbox with close ratios and a pleasantly mechanical feel.”
In November of 2014, FordSocial made a statement about the 2015 Fusion ST’s details and availability, intriguing people from Utah to countries as far away Europe, saying, “An ST variant of the Ford Fusion should be sold in both America and Europe. It should feature components from the 2015 Ford Mustang such as suspension, brakes, etc. Engine options should include either an EcoBoost 2.3L 4-banger, a 3.7L V6 [from Mustang].” Guaranteed, with the New Year approaching, the 2016 Ford Fusion will improve even more from its current model.
The new midsize sedan is expected to stand out specifically in terms of performance. According to Motor Trend, the new model is expected to be equipped with six-speed automatic transmission, all-wheel drive and possibly a “unique sport-tuned suspension just like the rest of the ST lineup.”
The vehicle is also expected to include a 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 that is said to have the capability of producing an impressive 300 hp. Additionally, what really makes the Fusion ST turn heads is the quad-tip exhaust pipes.
This model has caught the eye of Ford fans both inside and outside of rugged states like Utah. Both dealers and buyers anticipating the arrival of the Ford Fusion ST, unfortunately, still have some waiting to do. Motor Trend states that the Ford Fusion ST is expected to begin production in its first 2016 quarter. Until then, Ford has many an automotive masterpiece for fanatics and dealers to admire.
