Covid-19: Social Distancing and Symptoms

by Med Test Med Test

SARS-COV-2 virus is lethal and has already cost the UK more than 30,000 lives. While a lot of people have recovered, a majority of them are still suffering in hospitals. The trials for vaccines are in process, but until then, we must focus on preventing the transmission of the virus. Let us read about the ways we can prevent COVID-19.

Why is social distancing important?

By now, it has been established that the virus spreads through the cough droplets of patients infected with COVID-19. A person infected with the virus is likely to infect the objects in his/her surroundings that may further lead to fomite transmission. Therefore, it is best to stay at homes and step out when it is extremely necessary.

In just 4 months, this virus has reached every part of the world and has affected more than 188 countries worldwide.

Currently, social distancing and sanitizing your hands is the only possible way to prevent the spread of this virus.

Symptoms of Covid-19

The most common symptoms include cold, cough, and fever, shortness of breath, etc. In case you experience these symptoms, you should consult a doctor for immediate medical assistance.

The critical symptoms include:

  • Sore throat
  • Nausea
  • Diarrhoea
  • Fatigue
  • High fever
  • Muscle aches

The symptoms mentioned above are critical, and if you are experiencing these, then you should urgently get yourself tested as soon as possible.

How to fight the virus?

The best way of doing this is to stay protected. Wear masks and gloves whenever you go out. You should maintain a distance from other people on the road or in the market. Wash your hands regularly with an alcohol-based sanitizer to eliminate the virus from your hands.

You should also stay hydrated as water is known to enhance your immunity.

Relaxation in lockdown

The UK government has finally given a relaxation in the ongoing lockdown. Now people can go outside, but the group should not exceed 6 members. Primary schools will also reopen, and students can attend them. The schools have been directed to practice social distancing and keep a stock of sanitizers.

The schools in Northern Ireland and Wales will reopen in August. Nurseries and childcare providers in England have also been given permission to open from June 1.

Isn't this relaxation dangerous?

Some officials and scientists are worried about the relaxation in lockdown. They have shown concern that the cases may rise in the number after the lockdown has been lifted. However, the UK government has ensured that it will keep a close eye on everything, and if the cases rise, the lockdown will be imposed again.

The COVID-19 Testing Centre London can be reached if you want to get yourself tested. It is advised that as soon as you experience any of the symptoms, you should immediately get yourself tested.

Delaying the test can cost you, and you may end up in a hospital fighting the virus, alone. It is better to stay cautious and take precautions.
