Common USB driver errors

USB driver problems are some of the most commonly faced problems by users attempting to connect their phones or flash drive storage to their computers. You might have seen the errors pop up like ‘USB device not recognized’, ‘this device cannot start’ or even a prompt saying ‘There is no USB driver installed’. There are multiple error codes that you could encounter, but you need to be work out your way around the primary reason why your device or android USB driver is not working.

Here is what could have gone wrong:

A Damaged USB Port

With excessive dust or inappropriately applied pressure, the USB port itself might get damaged overtime. Even the slightest bending pin could result in an annoying USB driver error. This is especially common with users who have android USB drivers and constantly need to connect and disconnect cables into the port. Try the device in another port.

 No Power

If you attach your device to the USB port only to see nothing happening, the problem might be in your device. Make sure that your have the right Alcatel driver downloads and your device has enough power to connect to the PC.

If doing what is mentioned above doesn’t solve the problem, try restarting your PC.

Restarting Your Computer

Restarting your computer involves eliminating all power sources; therefore, it is more than just the usual reboot. Make sure that you disconnect all power sources to your PC, if you are using a laptop remove the battery for a few seconds.

Disconnecting all power to your PC will help cut down power to the motherboard and reset it. It is commonly known that even when a computer is shut down, there is still power being passed on to the motherboard. Leave it off for 10 minutes or so.

When you turn your computer back on and the USB port still fails to work, you might need to download an Android USB driver.

Uninstall the USB Driver before Reconnecting

In many cases, the USB driver might not be relevant to the device. Therefore, before you reconnect your device to your PC, you can try uninstalling the driver. Provided that you have an internet connection, once the device is connected the PC will look up the relevant driver itself.
