College compared to high school is full of new things and learnings. With so many things to manage and keep track of, it is important to learn how to manage your time especially when you are a working student.

Plan in the beginning of the semester

More often than not, the first few days of your semester are pointers and guidelines about the courses you will take. So it is important to write down all the necessary details in one place. It may be in a notebook that you always bring, a calendar, a planner or even your smartphone. It all depends on your preference as long as you don’t lose it.

Why is taking down notes important? One is that you cannot remember everything that has happened in a certain day. It serves as a reminder. It is also an important element in planning your schedule of activities because in college, your availability gets a lot complicated to manage especially when you are a working student attending a 7:00AM class.

Whether it is Trigonometry, Calculus or Physics, it is important to allocate your time wisely but make sure that you have enough time to rest and regain your strength for the next day. It may not be wise to fully exhaust yourself by studying all night, it is not healthy.

Be flexible and plan for the unexpected

Circumstances such as fever, birthday celebrations, anniversaries may or may not be expected. It is important to keep track with your schedule but be sure to be flexible and immediately adjust in unexpected situations. Leave a few hours in your schedule so that you can quickly switch and move out without worries especially when the event is very important.

Reward yourself once in a while

Examinations, midterms, finals -- these are stressful weeks of your college life. It is inevitable but as long as you followed your schedule and prepared for the exams well, you need not worry about it, instead, make room for fun with your friends. Have dinner, play consoles, or watch movies, you need to relax, feel comfortable, and get ready to step up to another semester.

College is a vital part of your life and your future career. It is important to make the best out of your school days by gaining more knowledge, more friends. Go beyond your limits and strive for the career you seek.
