Clean Hand and Food Safety
by Food Handlers Food Handlers Hand cleaning is extremely important for maintaining food safety. Your hands are most exposed part of your body. Washing hands before and after having foods is important for ensuring maximum food hygiene. This is actually a very basic requirement and yet very essential. Make it a habit. Teach your child how to wash their hands every time they attempt to have foods with bare hands. Training your child to wash hands will take time. But that has to be an indispensable part of the personal hygiene. Unclean hands can spread infectious diseases through foods. Pathogens like E. coli can spread through dirty hands. If one person is not well, for example he/she is suffering from coughing or sneezing problem, infection can spread through
viruses. Generally pathogens spread through one person to another through unclean hands. If a person doesn’t clean hands properly after using the toilet, dangerous bacteria can
spread to others through hand to hand contact. If the sick person touches foods with bare hands without maintaining personal hygiene, foods can get contaminated. You have to be
sure you don’t get exposed to such conditions.
You can’t expose your health to such vulnerable conditions. Food contamination because of lack of cleanliness is very common. Don’t touch food without cleaning your hands
properly. Every time you attempt to cook foods or wash foods before cooking, clean hands thoroughly. Contaminated hands can be a big reason for food poisoning. You may not
realize it most of the times, but it’s true that your hands get exposed to dirt or health threatening virus and bacteria very easily. This is why you have to be very cautious
about keeping the hands clean, especially before coming into the contact of foods. Children are most vulnerable to this condition and therefore you should make sure they clean
their hands at least when they tend to use bare hands to eat foods.
This is the reason food workers are trained to maintain personal hygiene and wash hands before they start cooking, after preparing foods, after handling food wastes, eating,
smoking or drinking. The recommended process of washing hand is cleaning them thoroughly for about 10 to 15 seconds. Use warm running water and soap foam. You have to rub hands
with the soap water and rinse with the warm water. Use disposable paper to dry them. Hand disinfectants can also be used to at times to keep them clean. Plus, don’t forget to
clean hands before feeding children.
