Medical science has changed from the past few years in researching and finding out new techniques and methods in various medical sectors. Light therapy in psychotherapy is one such technique or a method to fight depression.

As per medical experts, mild depression can be treated with the use of light therapy. The mild case of depression is known as Seasonal affective disorder or SAD. As per recent reports. About more than 50% of people have responded positively to the light therapy or psychotherapy in Notting Hill on them across the UK

S.A.D is a depression experienced by normal people in their daily experiences. The symptoms can be recognized as sadness, irritability, anxiety, increased appetite, eat more and sleep more more and more body restlessness.

More symptoms like issues in social life, guilt due to some reason, lack of energy and stress, and loss of concentration in daily work with frequent mood swings. The Light therapy is used to treat S.A.D depression by using a bright light.

Doctors recommend patients, to sit near the light or close to the light and keep their eyes open to have an effective exposure while doing daily work at the table near the light. It is said to be the best for people during winter time. Other medicines can also be taken in consultation with psychotherapy doctors that can come to help while treating SAD. One should not keep eyes too near the light.

The light therapy also includes living a balanced life that can have room for having a balanced diet, being cheerful and going to walk on an early morning sunny day. Exposure to the light therapy for some minutes in a day can have a good effect on the patients and reduce their depression.

This light therapy is very beneficial to people who have insomnia or are undergoing therapy for depression in Notting Hill area or other parts of the UK. The people using the light therapy or the light box should ensure its brightness and adjust it if necessary, check the UV light release, and whether it also releases blue light.

It is important to understand how the light therapy works. The light box or the tool is made up of LED lights, where the energy released is little higher than the normal light. It is interesting to note that as per experts, the light produced by the light box is said to be near to equal proportion to the light of the sun in a day. This therapy, as experienced by patients is said to be more effective at morning time

The psychotherapy counselors also help the SAD patients with other types of behavior therapy known as short term cognitive therapy, where they are encouraged and made to practice to think positive thoughts and discard negative thoughts.

As is reported, there are no side effects of this light therapy for the SAD affected patient.
